Getting Solaris Installed on Dell 2970/2950

Ahh, well if you’re reading this post then chances are you’re ready to shove a fork in your own eye. That’s ok though, because even with one eye I will try my best to walk you through the gruesome process that exists in order to marry the Dell 2970/2950 and Solaris. It’s painful, but it is do-able. I would highly recommend using different supported hardware, but who knows. You might be restricted into the Dell hardware by forces outside your control. Well know that you’ve finally found an ally!

Dell 2970/2950 and Solaris

I’ve been having quite a bit of trouble at work trying to get the Dell 2970/2950 playing nice together. Since there was a lot of hard to follow threads out there on the web, I’ve decided to jot down all the issues and problems we’ve run into during this horrendous journey.
